STRICT QUALITY SELECTION

There are many components of the production process that all combine together to ensure the highest level of quality possible. The process begins with the selection of the quarry deposits, these deposits are extensively tested on a regular basis to make certain the best possible rock is coming out of the quarry and brought to our mills for processing. Blocks are then cut and split into roofing slate. With constant supervision and steady observation of this process the strict quality measures are upheld. Then when the slate is ready to be packed this involves a precise selection and sorting of every piece to make sure the slate is perfect. This allows the slate to be efficiently installed for the end user with the least amount of labor possible. Our slate is tested by independent testing institutions ensuring all of our slate meets the Grade A, S1 standards for roofing slate.

QUARRY PROGRESSION

In our quarries the highest modern mining techniques are used.  Here the Cafersa Black Slate is not only mined underground in the large caverns but also from above ground quarries.  The fully mechanical sawing extraction makes work easier for the miners both above and below ground. This form of sawing extraction allows for the careful handling of the precious rock which minimizes waste and maximizes the amount of stone that can be utilized.  While one quarry maybe reaching the end of its lifespan, another quarry is being developed to ensure that it is ready to be opened simultaneously. Constant progression and development are a certainty, this is one of the most important elements of the quarrying process.
